Funding for business owners

Financing for your auto repair shop’s next step.

Plan funding for the equipment, parts, and capacity your shop needs. Compare the full purchase budget with realistic throughput and the time it takes to collect from customers.

Business-purpose funding. Subject to underwriting, verification, and program availability.

Choose the shop expense you need to cover

Lifts and diagnostic equipment

Include installation, calibration, software subscriptions, training, and any bay downtime in the purchase budget.

Parts and supplies

Compare supplier payment terms with job completion and customer collection. Separate fast-moving parts from stock that may sit unused.

Technician capacity

Map recruiting and payroll costs against booked work, expected billed hours, and the ramp-up period for a new hire.

Shop improvements

Budget for permits, fit-out, equipment, and operating reserves before adding bays or moving into a larger location.

Match the product to the purchase

For a specific lift, alignment rack, or diagnostic system, review equipment financing. Compare the quote, useful life, upfront costs, and payments with conservative utilization assumptions.

A business line of credit may support repeat parts purchases or collection gaps. A term loan may suit a defined shop investment. An MCA has a different contractual structure; compare total cost and collection frequency before deciding. Availability depends on the business and program review.

Estimate the cash needed for a new service bay

Illustration: a $28,000 equipment package, $5,000 installation budget, and $7,000 working reserve total $40,000. An available $10,000 business contribution leaves a $30,000 planning gap before fees or additional expenses. This is a planning example, not a quote.

Check whether the bay can generate enough contribution after parts, labor, and other costs to support the proposed payments. Test a slower ramp-up, too. Our expansion budget guide can help structure that review.

Starting requirements and documents

Logic’s published guidelines start at $25,000 in monthly business revenue. MCA and line-of-credit guidelines start at six months in business; equipment and term-loan guidelines start at one year. Credit requirements and additional conditions differ by product. Meeting a minimum does not guarantee approval.

  • Prepare a signed application and four recent, complete business bank statements.
  • List current loans or advances, remaining balances, and payment schedules.
  • Explain the amount requested, its business purpose, and your desired timing.
  • Have identification, ownership details, and any additional records ready when requested through the approved channel.

Review the current product requirements and our bank statement preparation guide.

Prepare the details behind your request

Keep an itemized equipment quote, any installation estimate, and a clear description of the intended shop improvement. For parts funding, explain supplier terms and the expected collection cycle.

Compare the offer, not just the payment

Request the net amount your business will receive, total payment or remittance obligation, all fees, payment frequency, and expected duration. Review liens, guarantees, early-payment treatment, and any reconciliation provisions. A factor rate on an MCA is not APR.

Use our side-by-side funding offer guide and daily versus weekly payment guide to organize the details before deciding.

Questions business owners ask

Can financing cover used shop equipment?

Used equipment may be eligible, depending on condition, age, value, seller, and the program. Confirm requirements before making a purchase commitment.

Can I apply for funding to buy parts?

Parts purchases may be an eligible business use. Review the agreement and compare payment timing with the expected completion and collection of the repair work.

Is this financing for a customer’s car repair?

No. This page is for business owners seeking capital for an operating auto repair shop. It does not offer consumer financing for a personal repair bill.

Will adding a bay automatically qualify my shop?

No. The review considers business history, revenue, credit, obligations, and program requirements. An expansion plan does not guarantee approval.
